Arrowhead has been recognized as a 2010 Editors’ Choice in the current Yankee Magazine’s Travel Guide to New England. This special edition offers readers insight into some of the places and people that “lend richness to their travel“according to Yankee editor Mel Allen. Featured in a group of 312 notable restaurants, lodgings, attractions and local secrets, the museum was designated a “Melville Primer”.

May 29- Opening Day
June 8- The Premier Brass Quintet offers a free concert and lecture on “The History Of Brass Instruments” 7:00 P.M. in the Arrowhead Barn.
June 23- Lecture on “The Whaling Industry” by Charles Flint. 7:00 P.M. in the Arrowhead Barn.
July 10- Melville Scholar, Dr. John Bryant, of Hofstra University, will speak on Melville’s first two Books, __Typee_ and Omoo. 2:30 in the Arrowhead Barn; tour of the house included in the admission price of $12.00; members free.
July 24-Melville Scholar, Mary K Bercaw-Edwards, of the University of Connecticut and the Williams-Mystic Program, will give a reprise of her book, Sailor Old Me. The book explores the language of sailors, in the multicultural setting of the whaling ship. 2:30 P.M. in the Arrowhead Barn; tour of the house included in the price of $12.00; members free.
July 31-The Annual Ice Cream Social from 12-5 pm. Features antique croquet. music, ice cream and discounted tours of the house. Free admission to the grounds.
August 1-Annual Monument Mountain Hike. Take the hike that commemorates the historic day in 1850 when Melville met Hawthorne. Then come to Arrowhead for a box lunch and readings about the event that changed American Literature. In collaboration with the Trustees of Reservations and Williams College Museum of Art. Hike is free; reservations required for lunch.
October 16 & 17- Berkshire Free Days. House and Exhibit free to County Residents.
