DESCRIPTION:FULL EVENT DETAILS HERE. \nHerman Melville’s historic home Arrowhead is the setting for Melville\, Haunted\, a performance presented by Berkshire History Theatre October 22-25\, 29-30 and benefitting Berkshire County Historical Society educational programs and restoration projects. The play explores Melville’s complex\, tormented genius from the perspective of those who best knew\, loved\, venerated and feared him. The performance moves through rooms in the house\, including the study where Melville penned Moby-Dick. Various characters from Melville’s life and books appear in each room.  \nThe evening begins with a wine and cheese reception at 6:30 pm; discussion with the playwright and cast follows the performance. \nAudience members must be able to climb one flight of stairs. \nTickets are $55 for BCHS members\, $60 for non-members and available by using the BOOK NOW button. \nThis event is sponsored by Massachusetts Cultural Council and Greylock Federal Credit Union.

DESCRIPTION:The popular nineteenth-century tradition of the parlour concert is celebrated with a festive holiday-themed harpsichord and vocal performance by Richard Franklin Donohue in Arrowhead’s historic parlour. Arrowhead will be decorated for the season; tea and cookies will be served following the concert. \nHistorian and musician Richard Franklin Donohue will explore an extraordinary repertoire of Christmas music from the tenth through the nineteenth centuries with carols presented in their original languages of German\, Latin\, Middle English\, French\, and modern English sung a cappella and with harpsichord accompaniment. \n Richard Franklin Donohue is a singer\, private music instructor\, and historian. Vocally\, he is a tenor who specializes in historic music ranging from Middle English Carols to 19th century romantic music.  He has been teaching Piano\, Voice\, and Music Theory since 1992.  \n Tickets are $15 for BCHS members\, $20 for non-members and can be purchased by using the BOOK NOW button. \nThis event is sponsored by Massachusetts Cultural Council and Greylock Federal Credit Union.
