Ardyce Instenes (Rainforth) 1916-2007
Lieutenant Instenes served 1942 to 1945 as a Registered Nurse for the 26th General Hospital in Africa and Italy. She helped care for the thousands of soldiers wounded in the North Africa and Italian campaigns.
After marrying in 1946, Mrs. Rainforth lived in Richmond, Massachusetts for over 50 years. In addition to working as a nurse, she was a member of the Costume Committee at the Berkshire County Historical Society.
