Planting the Liberty Tree

Join BCHS and the City of Pittsfield in the continuing celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence with the planting of a young American Elm “liberty tree” at The Common. These trees were symbolic of the freedom that patriots were seeking and they served as gathering places and rallying points throughout the colonies during the revolution.
