Tea and Talk with Elizabeth Doss

Melville’s great-great-great-granddaughter Elizabeth Doss presents dramatic readings selected from her great-grandmother Francis Osborne’s memoir Herman Melville through a Child’s Eyes,  a domestic perspective on Melville’s final years, portraying him as a warm and imaginative figure. This special program creates connections across five generations of one family. It illustrates  how stories bind us together across time, and how our ancestors shape how we became who we are.

Tea, sweets, and discussion follow the presentation.
