Murder and dark deeds shadowed the extravagance of the Gilded Age in the Berkshires of Massachusetts. In the summer of 1893, a tall and well-dressed burglar plundered the massive summer mansions of the upper crust. Arrowhead will be open daily February 11 – 21 for two tours a day – 10:00 and 11:00. The Berkshire County Historical Society is helping celebrate Pittsfield’s 10×10 Upstreet Arts Festival, by sharing stories of how the Berkshires inspired Herman Melville.
