Fall Fundraiser 2020

Berkshire County Historical Society at Herman Melville’s Arrowhead is excited to announce that we will hold our annual fundraiser this year virtually! Join us on October 8th from 7-8pm EDT.

Join the Berkshire County Historical Society for a night of stories, spirits and giving! Our virtual fundraiser this year will include an auction of unique birdhouses, a special menu from Spirited in Lenox with choices such as Harpoon IPA and ciders (like Melville used to make!), stories from local author Kevin O’Hara, and a unique look at Arrowhead with an eye towards preservation yesterday and today. Please tune in and support the BCHS – now more than ever, we need your help!

Our goal of this fundraiser is to raise $5,000 to match a grant from the National Historic Trust to support a Historic Structure Report for Arrowhead. This report is vital to the ongoing preservation of Herman Melville’s Arrowhead. Any additional funds raised will be used for the day to day operations of the Society.

We will also be holding an online auction as part of this fundraiser. Berkshire Empty Nest provided us with 22 birdhouses created with recycled materials from Melville’s historic barn. Each birdhouse is beautiful and a unique piece of Arrowhead. Click here for the auction and a chance to bring home part of Melville’s barn!

This event is donate what you can. Our suggested ticket price for this virtual event is $85. If you donate $160 you will receive a signed copy of Kevin O’ Hara’s “A Lucky Irish Lad”. O’Hara is our fall writer-in-residence, local author, and speaker at this fundraiser.

Please use this form to register for the event.
