Cantica Nativitatis

The popular nineteenth-century tradition of the parlour concert is celebrated with a festive holiday-themed harpsichord and vocal performance by Richard Franklin Donohue in Arrowhead’s historic parlour. Arrowhead will be decorated for the season; tea and cookies will be served following the concert.

Historian and musician Richard Franklin Donohue will explore an extraordinary repertoire of Christmas music from the tenth through the nineteenth centuries with carols presented in their original languages of German, Latin, Middle English, French, and modern English sung a cappella and with harpsichord accompaniment.

 Richard Franklin Donohue is a singer, private music instructor, and historian. Vocally, he is a tenor who specializes in historic music ranging from Middle English Carols to 19th century romantic music.  He has been teaching Piano, Voice, and Music Theory since 1992.
