Melville in Love – world premiere of new film

In Melville’s and Hawthorne’s Footsteps: Hike Monument Mountain with Gordon Hyatt
The annual celebration of the famous literary hike up (and down) Monument Mountain. In August, 1850, Herman Melville met Nathaniel Hawthorne at Monument Mountain, striking up an immediate friendship. We are proud to announce that as part of a Massachusetts Cultural Council LCC grant, three Berkshire Community College creative writing students were awarded Melville Fellowships this past fall at Herman Melville’s Arrowhead. They worked with Arrowhead’s Writer-in-Residence, Jana Laiz, and wrote original stories, while also serving a Writer-in-Residence apprenticeship.
